For the second time in less than two months, a suspected drunken driver crashed into a Lewisville Police Department vehicle that was stopped along I-35E.

During the early morning hours of Sept. 28, a Lewisville police officer responded to a call about a driver passed out in a stopped vehicle in the 1200 block of I-35E, according to a Lewisville Police Department spokesperson. While police were investigating, another driver crashed into the officer’s SUV, pushing it more than 40 yards. No one was hurt.

The driver of the stopped vehicle — 34-year-old Sheronda James — and the driver that struck the police SUV — 30-year-old Javier Montes De Oca — were arrested on suspicion of DWI.

In August, a similar crash in Lewisville landed another DWI suspect in jail.
