Recently, after seeing a story in The Cross Timbers Gazette about a couple of Flower Mound guys with a very popular local blog entitled, “How to Feed A Loon,” I watched a couple of their videos and enjoyed them so much that I wanted to meet the two very amiable characters.

When I told my wife Annette about them, she agreed enthusiastically and added that she’d also like to learn more about their cooking skills. To meet Kris Longwell and Wesley Loon is to love them! The reason we enjoy doing these interviews is that we meet so many interesting people with a lust for life and a success-oriented attitude. Such is the case with this impressible couple!

In the video, they talk about how they met, got married and embarked on a loving adventure that included developing their culinary skills and creating a blog that will make you drool when you watch the kitchen masters at work. Moreover, you’ll enjoy the witty ripostes between them and the humorous atmosphere that makes cooking look like a lot of fun. They sent a short bio (below) that just barely describes the remarkable union of two guys who appear to be meant for each other.

“You may be wondering, what in the world does “How To Feed a Loon” mean? Glad you asked! Kris Longwell and Wesley Loon have been happily married for over 27 years. They even were “legally” married at large wedding they won (yes, they actually WON a big ‘ole wedding) in 2014. Read all about that amazing happening right here.

“Through the years, Kris has honed his skills as a home cook.  He has studied with some amazing chefs, taken intensive ‘boot camp’ training sessions at the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America, and has read what seems like every cook book and food blog in the world. And simply put…Wesley loves to eat Kris’ food. Hence, the name of the blog: How to Feed a Loon.  Additionally, Wesley has taken on the photography and food styling. And they absolutely love working day and night creating informative, funny, and entertaining videos.

“They both grew up in families that enjoyed good food. And live by that time-honored tradition of cooking with fresh, quality ingredients and bringing wonderful tasty dishes to the table with a good bottle of wine, iced tea, or a cold beer. What started as a hobby in 2013 has blossomed into something beyond their wildest dreams. ‘How to Feed A Loon‘ reaches over 3/4 million fans, followers and viewers every month between their blog, newsletter, social media, YouTube channel and cable TV (RCN Network). They have a simple premise at How To Feed a Loon:  Create and share really delicious, yet approachable, food…and have a ton of fun doing it.”
