The second annual Lakeside 5K and Family Fun Day will be held next weekend to benefit local nonprofit Ally’s Wish.
The event is scheduled for Nov. 9 in Lakeside DFW in Flower Mound from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The Fun Run will begin at 7:30 and the 5K will start at 8 at the Plaza at Lakeside, 2300 Lakeside Parkway.
The race route will take runners and walkers around the development, down to Sunset Point, and return to the community lawn for a morning full of family fun activities, music and food, according to a news release from Realty Capital. Prizes will be awarded to the best group costume, best single costume and best 18 & under costume.
The event benefits Ally’s Wish, a local Flower Mound nonprofit organization that grants last wishes to terminally ill mothers with small children. By providing services, gifts, transportation, lodging, or any other “wish” the mother may have, they hope to provide a memory for the family that will last a lifetime.
“Lakeside is honored to continue to partner with such an accomplished and respected nonprofit organization and to host this fun event,” said Jimmy Archie, master developer of Lakeside.
