Flower Mound P&Z Vice Chair running for Town Council

Laile Neal

A Flower Mound resident with nine years of experience on town boards and commissions is now running for Town Council.

Laile Neal, currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission, is running in Place 1 against Jim Pierson and Laura Ella Dillon. Place 1 is currently occupied by outgoing Councilman Jason Webb., who is term-limited.

Neal has also served on the Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment and Oil and Gas Board of Appeals, where he served as Chairman.

“The  Board of Adjustment is fundamentally about ensuring our town’s codes and regulations are applied fairly for all residents and I gained a skill set on that board which I hope to continue using on council,” Neal said.

Neal is an advocate for supporting the Master Plan and SmartGrowth as well as continuing strong support for Flower Mound’s police and fire departments.

“I’m a big proponent of objective based goals with measurable, clear outcomes,” Neale said. “What specifically can we do to help our service providers like the Fire and Police Departments meet their goals going forward?”

If elected, Neal plans to work with the Council and the Economic Development team to actively guide how Flower Mound diversifies its tax base.

“I would love to see Flower Mound become recognized as a destination for high quality medical services,” Neal said. “These types of businesses provide great jobs, great revenue for our town and the medical services industry is a growing area we can really take advantage of.”

Neal is a 13-year resident of Flower Mound. He’s a Graduate of Oklahoma State University and is employed as simulator instructor for a large corporate aircraft manufacturer. He and his wife Linsi have been married for 14 years and have three girls, Bryanna, Meghan and Adelyn.
