Corinth police officers talked down a suicidal person from the second story window of a hotel on Saturday evening.

Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, 8111 South I-35E, about 6 p.m. about a suicidal person, according to a Corinth Police Department news release. A male subject had broken out the south hallway window and sat on the ledge, threatening to jump. He was sitting on jagged pieces of glass sticking out of the window frame.

Police set a perimeter and placed mattresses on the ground below the window, and requested a Denton County MHMR deputy and a negotiator. Before they arrived, Corinth Cpl. Reynolds and Officer Hulse were able to talk the subject back into the hallway, where officers safely pulled him into custody. The subject was taken into Denton County MHMR’s custody and taken for evaluation.
