Gnome Cones seeking permanent status in Argyle

Gnome Cones, the snow cone stand near Bumbershoot BBQ in Argyle, is seeking approval to operate as a permanent structure.

Gnome Cones first opened in the spring of 2017 after receiving approval for a six-month seasonal permit application, and the same thing happened in 2018, according to the town of Argyle. After the 2018 permit expired, Gnome Cones began the process of submitting a site plan and seeking approval to become a permanent merchant.

In the Gnome Cones letter of intent to the town, the owners indicated that they are looking into serving hot chocolate and cookies during the winter, so they can stay open year-round.

This week, the Argyle Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the request, with the conditions of removing a parking spot and putting fencing around the seating area. The request will now go to Town Council for final approval.
