Flower Mound invites community to celebrate Arbor Day

Post Ad – Top

The town of Flower Mound is inviting residents to celebrate Arbor Day this weekend.

The Flower Mound Environmental Services Arbor Day celebration will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Green Acres Farm Memorial Park, 4412 Hide-A-Way Lane. There will be tree giveaways, an “Ask the Arborist” Q&A session and a tree planting and mulch demonstration at 11:15 a.m., according to a town news release.

Arbor Day, a holiday in which people are encouraged to plant trees, is “the perfect way to celebrate the 25th consecutive year Flower Mound was recognized as a Tree City USA community,” the town news release said. Different states choose to hold Arbor Day at different times, and in Texas, it’s the first Friday in November.
