It’s spring cleaning season, which is often followed by garage sales. Ahead of that, the town of Flower Mound wants to remind residents about its rules and guidelines.
Flower Mound residents don’t need a permit to hold a garage sale. However, the sales can’t last more than three days, and each household can’t have more than two sales per year.
You also don’t need a permit to put up a sign about your garage sale, but signs can’t stay up long. They can only be placed on private property within 24 hours before the sale starts, and they must be removed within 24 hours of the end of the garage sale. Signs placed on public property will be removed by staff.
