On Feb. 18, the Denton County Law Enforcement Association (DCLEA) stated that, after further investigation, it was withdrawing its endorsement for Itamar Gelbman in the race for Commissioner Precinct 4.
Gelbman, with three other candidates, is running for the Republican nomination for the Precinct 4 seat being vacated by Andy Eads, who is a candidate for Denton County Judge.
The organization is choosing not to endorse anyone in the Commissioner Precinct 4 race. However, as of Wednesday afternoon, Gelbman’s Facebook page and website still displayed the withdrawn DCLEA endorsement.
The DCLEA works with the administration of the Denton County Sheriff’s office, the County and members of the Commissioner’s Court. It’s affiliated with the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA).
DCLEA officials did not elaborate on their decision to withdraw their support.
