The Flower Mound Fire Department on Wednesday held a celebratory “hose uncoupling” at the new temporary Fire Station #6, located at 6566 Stonecrest Road.
The $771,398 facility is adjacent to the Canyon Falls master-planned community west of the railroad tracks along Hwy 377.
Temp Station #6 will be equipped with a paramedic engine, a brush truck operated on behalf of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System, and staffed with three paramedic/firefighters.
The station will serve 18.3 square-miles of west Flower Mound, and approximately 5,000 residents, including the new Denton County Southwest Courthouse and Argyle Middle School.
Temp Station #6 will reduce response times in the Canyon Falls area as the Town continues to search for land adequate for a permanent home that will jointly house police and fire personnel, at which time the building will become the town’s Western Operations and Maintenance Public Works facility.
