During its Monday night meeting, proposals brought before the Flower Mound Town Council hit the proverbial bullseye.
Not only did they approve the rezoning and incentives for a new cluster residential development of homes ranging from $1.2-million to $3- to $4-million in western Flower Mound, just east of Tour 18, but a SUP (Special Use Permit) for the high-end Crossfire indoor shooting range to be located in the Southgate development at Gerault Road and FM 2499 was unanimously passed.
Of the six speakers who spoke about the gun range, every one of them approved granting the SUP.
Resident Warner Watkins represented what the other speakers had expressed.
“This [Crossfire] will be more than just a gun range,” he said. “It will have fitness and self-defense classes, a retail section and will be a destination for the whole area. It will bring in tax dollars from around the area.”
