The honors program at North Central Texas College is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2015 semester.

The program offers students with many benefits and opportunities including scholarships each semester to help offset the cost of tuition and gain a competitive edge when transferring.

Students in the program can take honors courses with well-respected, knowledgeable instructors in small class settings that foster a seminar-like experience; cultural and academic-enrichment opportunities including faculty lecture events, museum visits and study aboard experiences in Italy and England; transfer assistance to four-year universities and honors colleges; and distinction at graduation for all students who participate in the program.

Last year, the honors program offered more than 30 different events and opportunities for students.

“In a survey of students graduating or transferring from our program, 100 percent of responders rated the program as ‘highly beneficial’ to their success at NCTC,” Dr. Rochelle Gregory, honors program coordinator, said.

“More than 87 percent of these students also graduated or transferred with no student debt and almost all transferred into highly competitive programs at UNT, TWU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, SMU, the University of Texas and UTA. Several of our students have been awarded a Terry Foundation transfer scholarship worth $6,000 per semester.”

For more information about the Honors program and to download an application, visit the program’s webpage at www.nctc.edu/Honors. You can also email Dr. Gregory at [email protected].
