Southbound FM 2499 has reopened after being shut down for five hours on Thursday at the intersection of Lakeside Village Blvd./Silveron Blvd. after a major vehicle accident that occurred around 1:13 p.m.
According to police, a grey Ford pickup truck had crossed from the northbound lanes of 2499 into the southbound lanes when they struck a white Volvo SUV.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the SUV was transported with minor injuries.
While southbound 2499 was closed, officers had to divert traffic at Lakeside Parkway.
Flower Mound PD requested Pro Tow Wrecker Service to respond to help with the traffic control due to the extended shutdown.
