Flower Mound Councilman Webb will not seek re-election

Jason Webb, Place 1, Flower Mound Town Council

Jason Webb, a Flower Mound Town Council member whose seat is expiring this spring, announced Tuesday that he will not seek re-election.

Webb was first elected in May 2016.

In a statement, Webb did not say why he chose not to run again, saying that after talking to his wife and praying about it, he ultimately decided not to seek re-election.

“I love Flower Mound. I began my campaign for Town Council with this simple phrase and this love for our community has guided my thoughts and actions as a council member,” Webb wrote in the statement. “Over my term in office, I have been honored to represent the people of Flower Mound, while always seeking the best for our town.”

Webb added he enjoyed his time on Town Council, “and would say that no one has had more fun as a council member than I have.”

Webb is proud of the accomplishments that the town has made in his three years on council, including: the creation of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, as well as a Cultural Arts Master Plan; equipping the police and fire departments with new facilities and resources; welcoming many new businesses; and, improving the town’s infrastructure.

“These accomplishments, along with many others, will ensure that Flower Mound continues to be the best place to live, raise a family and do business,” Webb wrote in the statement. “I am happy to have even the smallest influence on the direction of our Town Council. Yet, my greatest joy has been found in working with individuals in our town to help solve problems and have an impact on our community. My passion for the people of Flower Mound far outweighs my love of policy making.”

Webb said residents will continue to see him serving in local organizations, including Rockpointe Church and the Summit Club.
