The Flower Mound Community Activity Center is preparing for the second annual Doggie Dive on Sept. 7.
During the event at the CAC’s outdoor water park, dogs can compete for best trick, fastest canine (swimming the length of the pool) and best costume, according to a news release from the town. There will be two time slots that day: 1 to 2:30 p.m. for dogs under 30 pounds and 3 to 4:30 p.m. for dogs over 30 pounds (and mixed-size doggie families). Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 150 participants per time slot. For one dog, registration is $5 for CAC members and $6 for non-members.
Participants are urged to arrive 20 minutes early so staff can verify your dog’s rabies vaccination is current. Proof is required by bringing either a receipt/certificate of the vaccination or by a 2019 rabies tag on the dog’s collar, according to the town.
For safety reasons, don’t bring treats or toys; toys will be provided by the town. Dogs are required to be on leashes before entering the pool enclosure. To register for either time slot, visit the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Road.
