The town of Argyle is asking residents to vote to choose a name for its park.
The park, located on Crawford Road near Hwy 377, opened in spring 2018, but it doesn’t have an official name. It’s been casually called Argyle Community Park or Unity Park, but the town wants to give it a real name. With a donation from BPS Jet, the town’s newest corporate sponsor, the town will be able to purchase a monument sign for the park, according to a news release from the town of Argyle.
The town sought name suggestions from residents in a Park Naming Contest on the town’s Facebook page, and it picked a handful of those for the community to vote on. The options are: Argyle Town Park, Unity Park, 1881 Park (after the year Argyle was founded), Eagle Park, BPS Community Park (after the company that is funding the sign) and Lineage Park.
Click here to vote before the July 31 deadline. The Argyle Town Council will take action on the name change on Aug. 13, according to the town.
