The Flower Mound Communications Department recently took home 10 national awards for its video programming.
The town received the awards at the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors conference earlier this month, according to a town news release. Flower Mound took home the second-most trophies out of any municipality in Texas, behind the city of Austin.
This was the first time the Flower Mound was a finalist in the Overall Programming Excellence, which judges FMTV programming as a whole.
Flower Mound was recognized with six first place awards and four second place awards:

- First Place “Meet the Team: Tyler Carroll“
- Category 29 – Public Safety
- First Place “Turkey Fryer Fail“
- Category 38 – Public Education
- First Place “Fireworks Safety: Keeping your July Fourth Safe”
- Second Place “Turkey Fryer Fail“
- Category 42 – Community Awareness
- First Place “Twin Coves – Time Stands Still“
- Category 51 – Use of Humor
- Second Place “Turkey Fryer Fail“
- Category 61 – Public Service Announcement (Operating Budget Under $200,000)
- First Place “Fireworks Safety: Keeping your July Fourth Safe”
- Second Place “Twin Coves Park – Time Stands Still“
