Local police departments growing facial hair for good causes

Southern Denton County residents may notice their usually clean-shaven police officers sporting facial hair this month.

It’s for a good cause.

Highland Village police are participating in Movember, a movement where men grow mustaches during the month of November and raise awareness and funds to fight against some of the most serious threats to men’s health and reduce the number of men dying young.

The Northlake and Denton police departments are participating in No Shave November, which is exactly what it sounds like, and it raises fund and awareness for cancer research.
