Need your lawn mowed? There’s an app for that

Flower Mound residents will soon be able to get their lawn mowed with a couple taps on their phone.

GreenPal, an app that connects homeowners with lawn care professionals in their area, is launching this weekend in Flower Mound, according to a company news release.

They call it “Uber for lawn care.”

Through the app, homeowners can list their lawns with their preferred service date and lawn care needs. Local vetted lawn care vendors then bid on the properties, based on Google street and aerial images, and homeowners can then choose which vendor to work with, based on the vendor’s ratings, reviews and price.

When the work is done, the lawn care professionals submit time-stamped photos of the completed lawn, and then homeowners pay via the app. GreenPal takes 5 percent.

GreenPal is based in Nashville and operates in several metro areas in the southern region of the country. It is now fully operational in Denton and Tarrant counties.
