Fall Trash Bash and Environmental Fair Sept. 24

kfmb-trash-pile-2005It’s almost time for Flower Mound to clean up their act again.

Keep Flower Mound Beautiful will host their annual Fall Trash Bash and Environmental Fair on Saturday, September 24, in conjunction with the National Public Lands Day and National Recycle Day.

The trash collection event will start with registration at 8:30 a.m., in the Home Depot parking lot, 852 Long Prairie Rd.

Volunteers will head out to parks, trails and roadways to pick up trash and bring it back to a central location. Lunch will be provided by In-N-Out Burger, along with giveaways and door prizes.

The Environmental Fair is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to vendors and nonprofits to promote green practices and living.

CoServ will be providing a climbing wall. Shred-it will offer free document shredding to Flower Mound residents. Best Buy will be providing small electronic waste recycling and Christian Community Action will be collecting gently used items, clothing, and housewares.

The trash event and fair is open to all ages and is pet friendly. Participation in the trash pick up event is not a requirement to attend the fair.

Residents who are not able to attend are welcome to show their support by linking their Kroger and Tom Thumb Reward Cards to KFMB’s account. Their support will help KFMB continue their Lend-A-Hand Community Enhancement Program – helping the disabled, seniors, and financial strapped residents in Flower Mound with outside home repairs/maintenance. The Kroger code is: 90445 and the Tom Thumb number is: 12787.
