Corbitt Retires

Orthopedic Associates announces the retirement of Dr. Danny K. Corbitt, M.D., a fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon.

Dr. Corbitt was born and raised in the Piney Woods of East Texas, graduating from Crockett High School in 1972. He was the first member of his extended family to obtain a college degree.

During medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, Dr. Corbitt received the Gold-Headed Cane Award. This award is the highest honor bestowed upon a graduating medical student selected by their peers for a demonstrated passion for patient care, academic excellence and community service.

Dr. Corbitt served as Chief of Staff at the Medical Center of Lewisville from 1993-1994.  He attended young athletes while he served as Marcus High School’s team doctor for 25 years.  He provided free indigent pediatric orthopedic care from 2005-2015.

While he may be retiring from Orthopedic Associates, he plans to continue working by serving others. He will be busy volunteering in ministry and teaching Anatomy classes to medical students in Galveston at UT Southwestern.  He does plan on having a little free time to play golf, and after teaching his grandson to fish, they are going to have many years for making memories together.

Feel free to send well wishes and congratulations to Dr. Corbitt at Orthopedic Associates, 5000 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, 75028.
