Rain and cooldown on the way

rain 8-14-16Say goodbye to the persistent dry weather and triple digit heat we have been enduring recently.

A significant weather pattern change is going to occur over the weekend as a cold front and upper level low pressure system from the Gulf of Mexico combine to bring rain chances and cooler temperatures to Denton County.

By Sunday temperatures will cool into the 80’s and low 90’s for highs, and will stay below normal through next week.

Rain chances will begin on Saturday and increase Sunday and Monday with some heavy rainfall possible. Scattered rain showers and storms will continue through next week.

Widespread rains totaling 1-3 inches, with isolated higher amounts near 4-5 inches are possible through early next week.
