Honda of Denton and Toyota of Denton hosted the 2016 Community Support Raffle on Saturday, May 14, at Toyota of Denton. This year’s winner was Don Moody from Mansfield, TX.

Moody purchased his winning ticket from the Mansfield Girls Soccer Association. The winner can choose a brand new Honda, Toyota or Scion vehicle with an MSRP of $30,000 or less. Moody selected a 2016 Toyota Tacoma from Toyota of Denton.

“Out of my 66 years of entering these things this is the first time I’ve won more than $100,” said Moody. “I don’t know what the odds were of my name being pulled, but I still can’t believe I won. I’m happy I won it.”

This year the Community Support raffle raised over $200,000 for the 60 participating organizations, including many schools and nonprofit organizations in southern Denton County. Since 2006 the Community Support Raffle has raised a total of $1.5 million dollars for the community.

Schools or nonprofit organizations can use this opportunity to raise funds for specific projects by selling raffle tickets. 100 percent of the money raised goes to the organization. This year the money supported new fine arts and band equipment, field repairs, mission trips, school trips and more.

The 2017 Community Support Raffle will begin in mid-August. If you are interested in participating or purchasing tickets visit http://communitysupportntx.com, call 940-535-7707 or email [email protected].
