Foodie Friday: Starting the New Year off right at Prime Farm To Table

What better way to kick off 2016 than by having a Foodie Friday lunch at one of Flower Mound’s most popular locally-owned restaurants, Prime Farm to Table? There’s actually no better way if we’re being honest, and I’m so excited to tell you about the meal that we had this week!

I’m extremely proud of myself because during lunch I allowed Chef Chris Flahaven to introduce me to some new foods including Onset MA Oysters and Tempura Brussel Sprouts! I’ve tried oysters before on both coasts, and I’m dead serious when I tell you that these were by far the greatest oysters I’ve ever had! And I am not a fan of brussel sprouts, but I actually really loved Chris’s which are tempura-fried and served with sesame sea salt, lemon, sriracha and sweet soy.

For our entrees we ordered the Cobb Salad (substituting the chicken with salmon) which consists of local greens, avocado, aged cheddar, blue cheese, bacon, hard boiled farm egg, apples and a cider vinaigrette.

And we also indulged ourselves in one of their most popular selections – the Grilled Flat Iron Steak – served with potato gratin, steamed vegetables and a mushroom cream sauce.

I love Chef Chris’s innovation and the fact that every day he serves a custom menu based on the ingredients he has to work with. And because of his creativity, he and his kitchen staff are also able to easily make accommodations based on any dietary needs. Trying out Whole 30? No problem. Need something gluten-free? Also not a problem. Whatever you need, Chef Chris and his staff are willing to prepare.

When I asked him what some of his best-sellers are, he commented that their devoted customers seem to always like his unique fish selections, his dry aged beef and the ribeye steak.

As Prime Farm to Table has been open for business over the past year, they’ve also successfully built up their catering business. They don’t have a set catering menu, but rather work with each catering client to discover their individual needs and likes for their private event.

Chef Chris even told me about a private dinner he catered at a customer’s home where he actually used the customer’s personal grill to prepare dinner and even gave him a few pointers of how to utilize it better in his own cooking! Dinner and a cooking class!

Now, I know it’s only January 8, but it’s never too early to start thinking about what your Valentine’s Day plans are going to be. And Prime Farm to Table would love to be the spot where you and your sweetheart can spend a meal together that day. They’re currently taking reservations for a special Sunday brunch and dinner this Valentine’s Day with brunch being served from 10:00am-3:00pm and dinner being served from 5:00pm-10:00pm.

I’m so grateful Chef Chris and his wife chose to open Prime Farm to Table here in Flower Mound, and love the fresh and unique approach they bring to food. They take great pride in incorporating fresh and local ingredients into their dishes. And over the last year, they’ve brought on a dozen new farms to source their ingredients from – including some right here in Argyle!

We wish them an abundance of continued success and encourage you to quit procrastinating and get back to the basics at Prime Farm to Table!
