It’s time for a great morning! We hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Here’s five things to know today:
- If you’re seeing American flags at half-mast around the area, they’ve been lowered in honor of the victims of last week’s deadly shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Save the date: The Lantana community yard sale has been scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 20.
- It’s summer and there’s a lot of swimming going on. It’s important to stay safe.
- From the Denton County Sheriff’s Office: If you receive a call from a Sgt. Jackson, claiming to be with the DCSO, telling you that a warrant has been issued for not appearing for jury duty — don’t believe it! This is a scam the DCSO is aware of.
- Kathy O’Keefe, of Flower Mound, received a proclamation from state Sen. Jane Nelson for her work creating a “First Aid for Drug-Free Living Campaign.” O’Keefe’s organization, WTF – Winning the Fight, helps make parents and teens aware of the danger of drug use.
