School district begins online registration

Parents of all current students in the Denton Independent School District now have the opportunity to “electronically enroll” their children for the 2012-13 school year.

The online registration verification process is scheduled from April 30 through May 18. All parents need to enroll online is an active email account that is on file at each student’s school.

Starting on Monday, April 30, an electronic link will be posted on the Denton ISD website at www.dentonisd.org on the main website and under the “For Parents” link. The link also features a short video that parents can watch that depicts the procedures for the online enrollment process.

All forms for returning students that need to be filled out will be attached to the link for parents to fill out and submit online.

“Our goal is to make the registration process simpler. As parents go through this process for the first time, the district would appreciate any input from our parents to help us streamline this program,” said Darrell Muncy, director of student services.

Prior to enrolling online, parents will need to check with each student’s school to make sure that they have a current, working e-mail address on file. The district also is providing links to “free” email sites to assist parents who need an email address.

Parents will still need to provide schools with proof of residency, updated immunizations if necessary, a current health card and pay any fines/fees prior to school starting on Aug. 27.

Students new to the district may go to www.dentonisd.org and fill out the information under the “new student information” link prior to finalizing the registration process at their school.
