Special Delivery

Lewisville-based Christian Community Action received a truckload of donations Monday from Waste Management delivered in a unique way.

Over the holidays, Waste Management North Texas area office staff collected canned goods and donation items for CCA.

The items filled 2 Bagsters, their “dumpster in a bag” product.

One Bagster was full of canned food items for CCA’s pantry shelves.  The other contained gently used items for reSale by CCA stores.

Waste Management’s Debby Burns coordinated with the Bagster service division and scheduled the items to be delivered and “lifted” into CCA’s parking lot.

On Monday, the two Bagsters were delivered to CCA during a meeting of their Board of Directors.  Both CCA staff and board members were present to witness the lifting of the Bagsters.

The donations immediately went into the pantry and the reSale processing center.

Christian Community Action’s pantry is one of the largest food pantries in North Texas and feeds 800 families a week.  Gross revenues from reSale by CCA stores help fund programs that serve 12,000 individuals in need in 42 North Texas communities.
