Liberty athletes prepare to play at collegiate level

Four Liberty Christian seniors recently signed with colleges in a ceremony at the school that was filled with college administrators, coaches, families, fellow students, and friends.

Two girls basketball players from Liberty’s championship team last year, Nicole Kornet and Nia Jackson, signed with the University of Oklahoma and Southern Methodist University respectively.

Sophie Asprey signed with Tulane University in New Orleans, La., to play sand volleyball.

Sydney Brynn committed to Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., to run cross country and track.

“It is always rewarding to see hard work, sacrifice, and a determination to do something great become a reality,” said Greg Price, Liberty’s athletic director.

“These students have set tough goals and worked very hard to earn this honor. This is an exciting time for their families, teammates, and coaches. Way to go girls!”
