Jazz Up Your Tuesday Nights
A concert series performed by top student quartets from the University of North Texas playing a variety of jazz standards will be held every Tuesday in May from 7-9pm at The Shops at Highland Village. Women Join Race Against Lung Cancer
After their mothers were diagnosed with lung cancer, Stephanie Ashley of Flower Mound, Kim Schwimmer of Lantana, and Amy McLeod of Lewisville came together to increase awareness and funding for the deadly killer by participating in the inaugural Free to Breathe 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk on May 21 at the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano. Get In Touch With Nature This Summer
Your child can spend a week exploring the outdoors with the opportunity to catch a tadpole, paddle a kayak, mosey down the trail, spend some time in 1869, and watch the buffalo roam. Rotary Offers Dog-gone Fun
Put on the dog and head to the 3rd annual “Paws for a Cause” Dog Walk on May 21 from 10–1pm in front of the Petco on the corner of FM 407 and FM 2499. Proceeds will benefit the Highland Village Rotary Club’s local charities, including the Highland Village Animal Care Unit. The event will feature pet adoptions, contests and demonstrations, a dog walk, low cost microchipping and a parade for dog owners to show off their mutts. Visit www.RotaryPaws4aCause.com.

Volunteers Needed to Deliver Food and a Smile
Meals On Wheels of Denton County needs responsible volunteers to deliver meals to the homebound seniors of Denton County.  Meal delivery occurs between 10am and 11:30am, Monday through Friday. Commit to just one day per week, or deliver on a stand-by basis. Delivery takes about an hour. Call the SPAN office at (940) 382-2224 for more details.
