Civic, community and business leaders will come together and pray next month at the 12th Annual Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast.
Mayor Dean Ueckert of Lewisville, Mayor Melissa Northern of Flower Mound, and Mayor Scott McDearmont of Highland Village will participate in the event on Wednesday, May 4, at 6:45 a.m. at Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville.
Patterned after the National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington, DC, the event is designed as a time for rededication of individuals and communities to God, according to organizers. Special emphasis is placed on prayer for law enforcement, elected officials, schools, pastors, churches, and military.
This year’s breakfast will feature Krish Dhanam as the keynote speaker and music by From the Dust.
Krish Dhanam is one of only two executive coaches personally trained by Zig Ziglar. He is the author of “The American Dream from an Indian Heart” and contributing author to “Top Performance” written by Zig Ziglar.
Born in South India, Krish came to America to realize his dream and his potential. After meeting Zig Ziglar, Krish was hired as a sales representative, where he worked his way up to Director of International Operations. Through teaching, speaking and facilitating seminars across the world, Krish launched his professional speaking career.
“Krish communicates with wit and wisdom the life changing philosophy that enriches lives all over the world,” said Zig Ziglar.
From the Dust is a Christian rock band that plays to incarcerated men and women in the Texas prison system.
In past years, the Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast has attracted 400 to 500 people. The host committee expects a sellout crowd this year.
