High winds fanned a fast-moving brush fire Friday morning on Hickory Hill Road near Harpool Middle School.
The blaze apparently started while a resident was cutting the grass with his tractor, according to eyewitnesses.
A neighbor, Peter Lichau of Rosegate Farm, moved several horses out of a nearby barn and started a bucket line before firefighters arrived, according to Erin Serna, the property owner.
The fire was contained to the property.
