The public is invited to a ceremony this Friday honoring the fallen and those who continue to serve the nation as firefighters, law enforcement or in the armed forces.
Double Oak’s annual Patriot’s Day celebration and ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 10th, at 6:00pm at the Double Oak Town Hall Park Pavilion.
“Town Secretary, Charlotte Allen, organizes and puts this ceremony together each year,” said Double Oak Mayor Mike Donnelly.
“She always has the help from other town employees and council, as well as tremendous help from both the Double Oak Fire and Police Departments. Other participants usually are Cub and Boy Scout Troops and officials from Crossroads Bible Church.”
Residents from neighboring towns, such as Flower Mound, Highland Village, Argyle, Bartonville, Copper Canyon and Lantana are also invited to attend the event.
