Lakeside Village decision on hold; CVS denied

There were so many items jammed on the Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) meeting Monday that Chairman Perfecto Solis moved the Magnolia Court residential and Lakeside Village mixed-use projects to the top of the agenda in consideration of the overflow audience.

The high density residential Magnolia Court project at the northwest corner of Gerault and Spinks was unanimously denied by the commissioners.

The Lakeside Village project was determined to have too many considerations, unanswered questions and lack of specific details for commissioners to give an educated recommendation.

As a result, the commissioners voted to table the item until a joint workshop can be held with Town Council and, thereafter, be rescheduled at a future P&Z meeting.

Assistant Town Manager Tommy Dalton said the first possible scheduled workshop would be April 19, but the coordination of calendars is needed to set an actual meeting date. Special workshop dates may also be considered.

The request by resident Jan Balekian for a Master Plan Amendment that would allow a CVS Pharmacy on the northeast corner of FM 1171 and Lusk was unanimously denied.

The seven hour meeting was finally adjourned at 1:48 a.m.
