High School Football Scores – Week 6

Marcus 18, Lewisville 7

Marcus won the annual Battle of the Axe on Friday night, keeping Lewisville to one score.

Justin Dinka led the way offensively for the Marauders, rushing for 174 yards and two touchdowns.

John Mayers also kicked a 37-yard field goal for Marcus in the game.

Marcus will host Hebron at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.


Guyer 55, Plano East 24

 Guyer rebounded from a tough loss to Plano last week with a victory over Plano East on Friday night.

Kaedric Cobbs led the way offensively for the Wildcats, rushing for 183 yards and five touchdowns in the game.

Luke Stillwell and Trace Jewell also scored on touchdown runs for the Wildcats, and defensively, DeRay Darthard returned a fumble 28 yards for a touchdown.

Guyer heads to McKinney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.

Byron Nelson 21, Flower Mound 20 

The Jaguars rallied from a 21-0, first quarter deficit on Friday night, but came up just short against Byron Nelson by one point.

Blake Short connected with Jake Welch and Reece Carter on touchdown passes and Alec Brooks scored on a 1-yard run.

Flower Mound will play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, at Hurst L.D. Bell.

Liberty Christian 50, John Paull II 0 

The Liberty Christian football team halted a two game skid on Friday night with a 50-0 victory over John Paull II.

Nate Hyden passed for 189 yards and three touchdowns in the game for the Warriors, and Andre Washington rushed for 123 yards and two scores.

Cole Croce was the top receiver for Liberty, with 137 yards receiving, including an 88-yard touchdown pass.

Liberty Christian will face the Panthers of Parish Episcopal at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.
