The Flower Mound Fire Department battled a 100-acre grass fire Thursday afternoon in the Canyon Falls area on FM 1171 between the railroad tracks and Canyon Falls Drive.
In response to the blaze, westbound FM 1171 was shut down at Hwy 377 for several hours.
Officials said no homes were threatened by the fast-moving fire, so no evacuations were ordered.
Denton County Emergency Services District No. 1, Ponder, Roanoke, and Justin fire departments assisted in the response.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
