The town of Flower Mound and the city of Highland Village ranked high in a new study’s ranking of the safest cities in Texas.
Flower Mound ranked No. 3 and Highland Village is the No. 6 “safest place in Texas,” according to a study by Elite Personal Finance, an online source for financial tips and identity theft protection.
Researchers created a formula using FBI crime statistics, according to a Flower Mound town news release, and a community’s population to determine a crime score – the safer the city, the lower the score. Flower Mound’s crime score is 0.45, and Highland Village’s is 0.49.
