Developers recently began clearing the land on Vickery Park, a 225-lot subdivision by Toll Brothers on the south side of FM 407.
“We’re just plowing forward,” said Rob Paul, division president at Toll Brothers.
Paul said that though the development will be built in two phases, the dirt work will first be done for the whole site.
“You want all your dirt to balance,” Paul said.
It’ll be about a year until construction begins on homes at Vickery Park, and then about another year before the first residents move in, Paul said.
Toll Brothers had presented several different proposals for Vickery Park last year before the Town Council agreed to the compromise of 225 lots. The town wanted less density in the subdivision, but the town had recognized that rising road construction costs would force the town to either approve the project or raise property taxes in 10-20 years, according to then mayor Sue Tejml.
