Flower Mound honors officer retiring after 21 years with FMPD

This week, the Flower Mound Police Department recognized one of its longtime police officers who is retiring after serving Flower Mound for more than two decades.

Flower Mound Police Chief Andy Kancel and the Flower Mound Police Department gathered together on Tuesday to honor Officer Kevin Schmidt on his retirement, the department said on social media this week. Schmidt spent more than 26 years in law enforcement, with 21 of those years serving the Flower Mound community.

“During the ceremony, officers shared their many fond memories or working with Officer Schmidt and presented him with several mementos of his time with the Flower Mound Police Department,” the department wrote in a Facebook post. “Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service to our Town, Officer Schmidt!”
