The city of Roanoke will begin work this week on a new 1.6-mile hiking trail.
The trail will start in the Newcastle Street cul-de-sac in the Briarywyck subdivision, and it will follow the Trinity River Authority easement south and under Hwy 114, ending near Hawaiian Falls, according to a news release from the city. It is scheduled for completion in September.
During this time, there will be trucks in the woods behind some Briarywyck homes. The construction team has been informed that work can only be completed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
