Verizon and AT&T customers can expect better reception in certain areas of Flower Mound soon, according to a town news release.

Both wireless companies have approved permits for the installation of several small cell sites in Flower Mound, in the Lakeside DFW area and throughout the rest of the town.

AT&T is currently installing 10 new small cells in Lakeside and should be completed soon. Verizon customers may have already noticed improved reception in Lakeside in the past several months, because Lakeside DFW business account owners have purchased network extenders, according to the town. Verizon is also in the planning process for a cell tower on Spinks Road, which should also help improve coverage in the area, if approved.

Sprint also has plans to construct two small cells and a collocation on the new Verizon tower off of Skillern Road that was approved earlier this year. They are also hoping to collocate on the planned Verizon tower off of Spinks Road, if approved, according to the town.
