Bartonville Town Update — January 2019

Bartonville Mayor Bill Scherer

Warm Greetings from Bartonville,

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Once again, Bartonville residents made sure that the Town’s annual Blue Santa program was an unquestionable success. In our 6th year of the program, the generosity of our residents allowed for every child that registered for the program to receive gifts and have a special Christmas. Thank you to everyone who supported this important community program. The continued compassion from our citizens is humbling. A special THANK YOU to the teachers and students of Argyle High School Student Leadership for taking the time to wrap all the presents and donations received.

Please Note: With road work on Rockgate Road finished, the Town has begun work on Dove Creek from Gibbons Road to Noble Champions Way. No thru traffic will be permitted on Dove Creek Road until the project is finished in late January. Please seek an alternate route. Your continued patience while this project is completed is appreciated.

Many of you have noticed the construction on FM 407, by Marty B’s. The 7-Eleven convenience store previously located in the Bartonville Town Center has expanded, moved and is now open for business! It is now a gas and convenience store, located on the southwest corner of FM 407 & I.T. Neely.

A friendly reminder, if your residence has a home security system, please ensure it is registered through the Town so our Police Officers can provide you with the best service. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes on www.townofbartonville.com. The Alarm Permit Application can be found on the Police Department’s page.

Here are a few upcoming items for 2019:

  • Candidate application packets for qualified citizens are now available at Town Hall or can be downloaded from the Town’s website. The next General Election for Town Council is May 4, 2019. The dates for filing for Place 1, Place 3 and Place 5 on the ballot are January 16, 2019 – February 15, 2019.
  • Save the Date. Our annual Spring Clean Up will be held Saturday, April 13th.
  • Humane Tomorrow will begin having monthly volunteer orientation meetings in the Community Room. http://humanetomorrow.org/help/volunteer.html
  • Town Hall will be closed in observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 21st.

We are entering our coldest months. Please care for your neighbors, animals and pipes. Looking forward to a fantastic 2019!
