The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for Denton County for Friday night through Saturday morning.
As of Thursday afternoon, temperatures are forecast to be in the low 30s by Saturday morning with wind chills in the low 20s, the coldest temperatures of the season for North Texas.
The weather service urges residents to bring in outdoor plants sensitive to temperatures, make sure outdoor animals have shelter from the cold, shut off their sprinklers and cover their pipes.
