Highland Village City Council honored one of its employees this week for her 30 years of service with the city.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, City Council recognized Jane Ponder for her retirement after three decades working for the city. Ponder began her Highland Village career in June 1988 as a bookkeeper, and she was promoted to senior accounting technician in 1997 and accounting specialist in 2004, according to a city news release.
“Jane has provided exemplary service to this city and our employees,” said Mayor Charlotte Wilcox. “Her knowledge, wisdom and mentorship has been invaluable to the finance department and all city employees. We appreciate her dedication and wish her well in her retirement.”
