Harpool Middle School was placed on a brief lockdown Monday morning after someone thought they saw an adult carrying a weapon inside a case into the school, according to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
TheSheriff’s Office received the call just before 9 a.m. and responded to the school, located just north of Lantana. Deputies found that the case in question was one that holds a band instrument, and the person who carried it into the school is a regular instructor who assists the Harpool band director and was cleared by the Harpool front office, according to Deputy Eric Peterson.
The lockdown was lifted just before 9:30 a.m.
