Flower Mound Animal Services reunites dog with family, puppy

Flower Mound Animal Services reunited Tosha, a Yorkie, with her owners and her puppy on Monday.

They’re calling it a Christmas miracle, a heartwarming story of family reuniting in time for the holidays, right here in southern Denton County.

The Flower Mound Animal Adoption Shelter received a small female Yorkie on Friday that looked like she had had puppies recently, Flower Mound Animal Services said in a Facebook post.

The dog had no identification, and the shelter didn’t receive a call about her over the weekend.

But on Monday morning, a woman and her daughter came in and asked if the shelter had recently taken in a female Yorkie, because theirs, a nursing mother, was missing.

But the mother and daughter said they live in Denton, and “our hearts sank, thinking it was too far away to be this Yorkie’s family,” staff said in the Facebook post.

But when staff brought out the dog, named Tosha, “that little girl nearly jumped from our arms when she saw her family and puppy,” the department wrote. “Needless to say there were many tears flowing.”
