Firefighters battled a raging three-alarm fire at a residence in the 100 block of N. Forest in Double Oak early Sunday morning.

The 3,835 square-foot, two-story home appeared to be a total loss.

Early reports from the scene indicated that the fire may have started in the attached garage and traveled through the attic to the rest of house.

The homeowners, Mark and Cathy Grygar, and their German shepherd, Sadie, were able to escape the home safely and no injuries were reported.

Mutual Aid was provided by Argyle, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Denton and the Lake Cities fire departments.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the Grygar family.
