Skip Fletcher, of Fletcher’s Corny Dogs, passes away

Neil Odrey Fletcher Jr. of Double Oak, known by the world as “Skip, the Corny Dog King,” passed away on Tuesday morning, January 31, after a battle with pneumonia. He was 82.

Fletcher was born on February 12, 1934 in Dallas to his parents, Neil and Minerva Fletcher.  Fletcher was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, best friend, community leader and servant of God.  He was known for his endless generosity, giant personality and contagious enthusiasm for life.  Hilarious, loving and genuine, he was everyone’s favorite person.

Fletcher is survived by wife, GG Fletcher; son, Aaron Fletcher; daughters, Beckey and Amber Fletcher; grandchildren, Audrey Gardsbane, Monica Welling, Jace Fletcher and Amanda Bandy; 12 great grandchildren;brother, Bill Fletcher; and his dog, Cousteau. He is preceded by his brother, John Fletcher, and sons, Dutch, Craig and Rodney Fletcher.

A visitation and final viewing will take place on Saturday, February 4at 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. All are encouraged to attend and to celebrate Mr. Fletcher’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the State Fair of Texas Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Program.
