October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Denton County Friends of the Family is ready to bring awareness to the community.

Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF) is the non-profit domestic violence and sexual assault agency serving Denton County.

In addition to being the sole provider of emergency shelter for domestic violence victims, DCFOF is also the sole provider for free services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking for Denton County.

We offer Individual and Group Counseling for women and men who are victims, Legal Advocacy, Play Therapy for children, 24-hour Crisis Line, a Food Pantry, a Career Resource Center, Community Education, and a Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (for perpetrators of domestic violence). All services except for the Violence Intervention and Prevention Program are completely free of charge.

Here are some upcoming events we have planned for domestic violence awareness month:

ROCK N’ STROLL: End the silence about domestic violence by attending this awareness concert! Live music, fun atmosphere, no cover charge!

We are the 100+ women standing for the 1 in 4 women in our community who will be touched by domestic violence, and commit to stand with her and her children in their fight for freedom.
