Marcus came up short in the annual Battle of the Axe, losing to Lewisville by a score of 41-14.
A bright spot for the Marauders was receiver Duncan Berger, who caught six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The Guyer Wildcats cruised on Friday night, moving to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in district competition with a big win over Plano East.
Trevor Caples had a strong night at wideout for the Wildcats, catching three passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Flower Mound 35, Trophy Club Nelson 21
Flower Mound picked up it’s first district win on Friday night, defeating Byron Nelson by a score of 35-21.
Ifeanyichukwu Uzowihe rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the game for the Jaguars.
Liberty Christian 56, John Paul II 24
The Warriors got their first victory of the season on Friday night against John Paul II and evened it’s district record at 1-1.
Avi Shapira rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way for the Warriors.
