Call this week the “balm” before the storm.
A major storm system will affect Denton County after Christmas with rain and storms Saturday and Sunday, and maybe a little snow into Monday morning.
A strong cold front will move through early Sunday and put an end to the unseasonably warm weather with temperatures dropping into the 30’s and 40’s, forecasters say.
The track of the upper low pressure system will be critical on where the rain will change over to snow, and forecasters said Wednesday that North Texas may see some light snow.
For now, rain is expected to begin Christmas night and continue into Sunday. Highs on Saturday will be in the low 70’s, dropping into the 40’s by Sunday afternoon.
Keep an eye on the forecast here.
